The Grammy and Oscar winner Lady Gaga left everyone wanting for more with her stellar performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26.

Breaking away from traditional stadium settings, the ceremony embraced the iconic beauty of Paris, transforming the River Seine into a grand stage. A total of 6,800 athletes embarked on an extraordinary 6km parade aboard 85 boats, journeying from east to west.

This scenic route showcased some of Paris' most renowned landmarks, repurposed as Olympic venues, including the Eiffel Tower and the Esplanade des Invalides.

As the boats cruised along the river, Lady Gaga made her grand entrance. Emerging from behind a cascade of pink feathers on the riverbank steps, she was met with thunderous applause from the fortunate fans who managed to secure free tickets.

The riverbanks were lined with enthusiastic spectators, while Parisian balconies overflowed with locals eager to witness the historic event. The parade culminated at the Trocadero, where the atmosphere was electric with anticipation.

Lady Gaga, embodying the spirit of French cabaret and music hall, performed a mesmerizing rendition of "Mon truc en Plume," originally by the iconic French revue artist Zizi Jeanmarie. Her captivating performance was a heartfelt homage to French culture, delivered with her signature flair.

"Bonsoir! Bienvenue à Paris!" she exclaimed, her greeting echoing along the Seine and igniting a wave of excitement among the spectators. This warm welcome was the prelude to the official lighting of the Olympic Flame, a moment that marked the formal commencement of the XXXIII Olympiad.

As the flame was lit and official delegations from around the world gathered, the ceremony not only celebrated the athletes but also highlighted the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity that defines Paris.

The unique format of the event, with its emphasis on the city's landmarks and open-air venues, offered a fresh approach to the Olympic Games, providing an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators alike.
