The Memphis Grizzlies have secured Jaren Jackson Jr. with a five-year, $240 million contract extension, as reported by ESPN. This agreement ensures the All-Star forward remains with the team until the 2029-30 season, including a player option for the final year. The announcement followed closely after the NBA's free agency negotiation window opened, although no deals can be finalized until July 6.

Jackson has consistently performed well since being drafted fourth overall in 2018. Last season, he made his second All-Star appearance, averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.53 blocks per game. Over his career with Memphis, he has averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists across 407 games.

The Grizzlies are making strategic roster adjustments this offseason. They recently traded Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, and several draft picks.
