Gujar, Raut to lead Mah teams in national youth athletic meet

Pune, May 19 (UNI) Aniruddha Gujar of Pune and Asian cross-country gold medallist Monica Raut of Nagpur will lead Maharashtra boys and girls teams respectively in the fourth national youth athletic championship, to be held at Bangalore on June 1 and 2.

Announcing a 34-member squad Pralhad Sawant secretary general of Maharashtra Amateur Athletics Association (MAAA), said Maharashtra expects to retain the team championship in the national youth athletic meet.

Subhash Pawar and Madan Patil will be the coaches. Uday Joshi will be manager for the boys team, while Manisha Ghate will be manager-cum coach for the girls team.

The teams: Boys: Anniruddha Gujar (capt), Kuldip Bonge, Gulab Sing Vasave, Datta Zongade, Sunil Kumar, Dharmendra Yadav, Ananad Kamte, Milind Gohal, Tejas Salian, Pushkar Mehunkar, Deepak Pandy, Sabha Bhagat, Sandeep Kulgadhe, Sunil Harale, Eshan Moli, Ramashankar Bharati, Harishchandra Gupta, Dhiraj Mishra, Navin Singh.

Managers: Madan Patil and Subhash Pawar, Coach: Uday Joshi.

Girls: Monica Raut (capt), Rucha Patil, Shreya Vidwans, Amruta Whatkar, Monika Atre, Neelam Kadam, Swati Gawade, Chhaya Gaikwad, Deepli Uthale, Deepika Verge, Sonali Gargote, Pankaja Khole, Poornima Nivwangane. Prererna Gongje, Rajshree More, Bhagrashree Shirke.
