Gunners better team than Man U, City despite recent defeats: Wenger

By Super Admin

London, Sep 25(ANI): Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reckons that the Gunners are a better team than arch rivals Manchester United and Manchester City despite their recent defeats to both the sides and said that they would strike back to lead the Premier League.

"There is a belief after the games that we are stronger. We must turn that into points" The Independent quoted Wenger, as saying.

"I am not talking about the whole package, but on the basis of that match we should not have any inferiority complex. We'll see when the season ends," he added.

The 59-year-old also said that Arsenal were ready to face Fulham, a team which they have lost for three successive seasons, on Saturday.

A defeat can spell doom for Gunners, but Wenger said: "You can never afford to lose a game in this league, but you can lose five and win the championship, we have shown that and so have Manchester United. Not that we are thinking of losing. The team has grown since this game last year, it has matured and is stronger,"

Wenger further said that the budget that he had for team-building was sufficient, and right now he has the best team possible.

"I had 30 million pounds in the summer, and I spent 10 million pounds on Vermaelen. Apart from that I did not want to buy," Wenger said.

"We have an unbelievable squad. Against Wigan, Bendtner was on the bench, Walcott, Arshavin, Nasri, Denilson did not play. Where do you play all the players, who are all talented players?" he added. (ANI)
