Guv regrets shifting of India-England match from Eden

Kolkata, Jan 29 (PTI) West Bengal Governor M K Narayanantoday expressed regret at the shifting away of India-EnglandWorld Cup tie from the Eden Gardens by ICC on grounds ofunpreparedness and said he did not think that the match couldbe brought back.

"Eden Gardens is next to Lord''s," Narayanan toldreporters on the sidelines of a women''s cricket match at SaltLake here, adding that it was a loss for cricket lovers thatthe match was shifted from Eden Gardens.

Narayanan said it was almost too late for the match to bebrought back to Eden Gardens.

"I think it is almost too late. They (ICC) have alreadytaken a decision. Anyway, lets see," he added.
