Lewis Hamilton feels his initial weeks with Ferrari have been ideal, describing his transition as smooth. After leaving Mercedes last year, where he won six of his seven championships over 12 seasons, Hamilton is now focused on adapting to Ferrari. During the 2025 pre-season testing in Bahrain, he achieved the second-fastest time on Thursday morning. Speaking to reporters, the 40-year-old expressed satisfaction with driving Ferrari's SF-25 car and believes he has adjusted well.
Hamilton emphasised the importance of a strong start, stating that the past month has been crucial for laying a solid foundation. Despite having to fit a lot into a short period, he mentioned they haven't rushed the process. "Long days, but that's what we're here for," he said. He believes this approach will be beneficial in the future. The transition has felt natural and effortless, allowing him to feel at home with the team.

Hamilton aims to challenge for an unprecedented eighth world championship this year. Red Bull's Max Verstappen has dominated by winning the last four titles consecutively. Although Hamilton acknowledges that Ferrari needs to close the gap with Red Bull, he remains optimistic about his progress at Maranello so far. "I think it's a bit early to say, but I am really enjoying the car," he remarked.
Reflecting on recent testing sessions, Hamilton noted that while one day was average, they completed all planned runs and tested various elements. He highlighted that he's not yet making setup changes or directing car development but is focusing on interactions with his engineer. "So far, I really enjoy driving this car," he added.
With just over two weeks remaining before the Australian Grand Prix on March 16, Ferrari is working to refine their preparations. Hamilton mentioned that these days are about exploration and gradually extracting more from the car. He acknowledged there's still room for improvement as they continue to fine-tune their strategies and performance.
The upcoming season presents an opportunity for Hamilton to further explore his potential with Ferrari and aim for another championship victory. As testing continues, both driver and team are focused on building a competitive edge against rivals like Red Bull.
