Lewis Hamilton is optimistic about Ferrari's performance at the British Grand Prix following a strong showing in practice sessions. At the Austrian Grand Prix, Hamilton equalled his best finish of the season by securing fourth place. His teammate, Charles Leclerc, finished third, setting a positive tone for their arrival at Silverstone.
Hamilton was the fastest in the first practice session on Friday and secured third place in the second session. The nine-time British Grand Prix winner expressed confidence, saying, "I definitely feel like we can dream of having a strong weekend, for sure." He emphasised the importance of executing plans effectively to achieve the best results.

Hamilton acknowledged potential weather challenges with rain expected over the weekend. He stated, "I think tomorrow there is rain potentially coming and also on Sunday as well, we just have to try our hardest to make sure we are ready for that." Despite these challenges, he remains focused on preparing thoroughly to ensure optimal performance.
The 40-year-old driver has been improving his comfort with the car's setup. He mentioned feeling more at ease with its requirements and noted that adjustments were still needed after P2. "I'm progressing a lot now with the car," he said, highlighting his growing confidence in making necessary changes for upcoming sessions.
Hamilton has enjoyed significant success at Silverstone, breaking a 31-month winless streak with a victory there in 2024. He holds more wins at this track than any other driver in Formula One history. However, he has not reached the podium in his last 13 races, marking his longest such streak.
Despite upgrades from Red Bull and McLaren, Hamilton was pleased to see Ferrari remain competitive. Reflecting on practice day, he said it was "really good" and appreciated being on track at Silverstone with Ferrari amidst an enthusiastic crowd. This positive outlook sets an encouraging tone for Ferrari as they prepare for race day.
