Hamilton 'humbled' after visiting idol Ayrton Senna's grave in Sao Paulo

London, Oct 17(ANI): Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton recently visited the grave of his F1 idol Ayrton Senna, who was killed at the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola in 1994.

Talking about the emotional visit, Hamilton said that he felt good to finally meet the three-time champion, who is buried in Sao Paulo's Morumbi cemetery with just a simple brass plaque marking his grave.

"It was the first time I'd met him so it was good. It was only a matter of time before I went. I've wanted to do it for the last two years, but I was always being followed. It is a very humbling place and it's very simple the way they do it," The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

"It was a special moment for me. There were a couple of others there too so it wasn't a private thing. I didn't want to be there with other people. I was there for five minutes maximum and left," he added.

Senna was killed in a crash while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, and remains the most recent Grand Prix driver to die at the wheel of a Formula One car. He is also regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the history of F1. (ANI)
