Hamza bounces back to win BMC Gold Race

London, Jul 4 (UNI) India's Chatholi Hamza, bounced back as he clocked 3:40.90s to win the first place in the 1500 m race in BMC Gold race held at Watford here.

Hamza beat Steve Davies (3:45.92s) of Belgrave and Daniel Pettit (3:48.27s) of Newham and Essex Beagles with a big margin yesterday.

Hamza, meanwhile, also expressed confidence to achieve Olympic qualification in Stockholm on July 8.

Sajeesh Joseph won the men's 800m race, while Sinimole Paulose won the women's 800m with a timing of 2:03.87s.

It's been over a month since Indian athletes are training at Tessa Sanderson's Newham Sports Academy at Newham.

Indian athletic team coach Dr Nikolai expressed his satisfaction over the training and performances in the competition.

Indian athletic team took a tour of the Olympic site which is under construction and will now move to Stockholm for Sollentuna Grand Prix on July 8.
