James Harden Scores Franchise-Record 55 Points In Clippers' Victory Over Hornets

James Harden achieved a franchise-record 55 points with ten three-pointers as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Charlotte Hornets. This performance marked an important milestone in his career and helped end the Clippers' losing streak.

James Harden delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 55 points with 10 three-pointers, leading the Los Angeles Clippers to a 131-116 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. This achievement set a new franchise record for the Clippers. Harden's previous best was 61 points, achieved twice with Houston in 2019. The Clippers' prior record of 52 points was held by Charles Smith and Bob McAdoo.

The Detroit Pistons secured their 12th consecutive win by defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 129-116. Cade Cunningham led with 29 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds. Jaden Ivey returned from injury to contribute 10 points in his first game since January. Tobias Harris also made a comeback after dealing with an ankle sprain, adding 18 points.

Harden's Record-Breaking Night for Clippers

Chris Paul hinted at retirement after this season through a social media video. In what might be his last game in his home state, Paul recorded eight assists. He showcased his playmaking skills by setting up Brook Lopez for three open three-pointers in the second half. Ivica Zubac contributed significantly with 18 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

The Chicago Bulls narrowly defeated the Washington Wizards 121-120, handing them their 14th straight loss. Nikola Vucevic was pivotal with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Giddey also impressed with a triple-double performance of 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Coby White added another solid contribution with 20 points.

Detroit's victory brought them closer to matching their longest winning streak of 13 games from past seasons when they won NBA titles. The Pistons ended a losing streak against the Bucks that had lasted since January 2022. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed his second game due to an adductor strain as Milwaukee fell below .500 for the first time this season.

The Hornets struggled despite Kon Knueppel's impressive showing of 26 points as they faced their fifth consecutive defeat. Brandon Miller returned from a shoulder injury absence to score 21 points for Charlotte. Harden's explosive start saw him score an incredible 27 points in the first quarter alone, helping the Clippers establish an early lead.

Bulls Edge Past Wizards

The Bulls managed to edge past the Wizards despite trailing most of the game. A crucial run midway through the final period turned things around for Chicago. Tre Jones sealed the win with two free throws in the last moments of the game. Cam Whitmore and Corey Kispert each scored 20 points for Washington.

The Wizards remain winless against Eastern Conference teams this season despite efforts from CJ McCollum and Kyshawn George who scored significant points but couldn't prevent another loss.
