Haryana Election 2024: Manu Bhaker and Vinesh Phogat Urge Youth to Vote for Change

By MyKhel Staff

As Haryana gears up for a decisive assembly election, two of the state's sporting icons-Olympic shooter Manu Bhaker and wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat-cast their votes, sending strong messages about youth participation and change.

Manu Bhaker, who won two bronze medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, voted for the first time in Jhajjar. Sharing her excitement, the 22-year-old urged the youth to take responsibility in shaping the country's future. "Being the youth of this country, it is our responsibility to vote for the most suitable candidate.

Small steps lead to big goals," she said to ANI, emphasizing the importance of voting for development. Bhaker, accompanied by her mother, expressed joy in fulfilling her civic duty, highlighting how childhood memories of visiting polling stations with her parents inspired her to vote.

Bhaker's father, Ram Kishan Bhaker, also underlined the significance of voting, particularly for local development. "Manu is a youth icon for voting. We vote in every election. How will our village develop if we do not vote?" he stated, urging people to participate in the democratic process.

On the other hand, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, representing the Congress from the Julana constituency, cast her vote in Charkhi and called for change. After voting, Phogat stressed the importance of electing leaders who prioritize women's safety, job creation, and tackling pressing social issues such as drug addiction and unemployment in the state.

"Today is the day for change and to awaken new hope," Phogat said to ANI, appealing to the people of Haryana to vote for a better future. Phogat, known for her vocal support of the Congress party, pointed to the positive impact of former Congress Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda on sports development in Haryana.

She urged voters to support a party that works for women's rights and development. "Every vote counts, and today is the day to use that power," she added. The Haryana Elections 2024 have become a high-stakes contest.

Especially between major parties like the BJP, Congress, and AAP, with alliances such as INLD-BSP and JJP-ASP also in the race. Both Bhaker and Phogat are rallying the youth to take charge of their future through the power of voting.
