Having Inzamam, Yousuf back in the team is a moral booster: Malik

Lahore, Oct 7 (UNI) Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has welcomed senior batsmen Inzamam-ul Haq and Mohammad Yousuf back in the team for the second test against South Africa starting here from tomorrow.

The 25-year-old all-rounder who succeeded Inzamam after Pakistan's disastrous Caribbean World Cup, said the former skipper's inclusion in the side was a moral booster for him and his team-mates.

''Having Inzamam and Mohammad Yousuf back in the team will certainly bolster the batting lineup,'' Malik told mediapersons.

''Witnessing him training with us today has raised our confidence level and hopefully we can win this Test and square the series.

''If Inzamam can get a big score it would be the icing on the cake for us. But we have to fire as a team as well,'' he added.

The 37-year-old batsman, who would seen doning the national colours one last tomorrow, just need 20 runs to topple Javed Miandad and become the country's highest Test run scorer.

He has 8,813 runs from 119 tests under his kitty.

''It will be an emotional occasion for me but I am praying I can go out on a winning note. It would be the best farewell I can ask for,'' an emotional Inzamam said.
