Heated exchange between Gambhir-Watson

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) A tense moment cropped up just minutes before the tea, of the third test, when the opening batsman Gautam Gambhir and Australian all-rounder Shane Watson got involved in a heated exchange here today.

Gambhir was provoked by Watson when he was taking his first run off the Australian's delivery in the 51st over and in reply the left-hander nudged the bowler when he crossed him while completing the second run.

The Delhi batman's gesture left Watson surprised.

Watson had deliberately walked down the wicket to Gambhir earlier in the 18th over.

Gambhir later hit a six off Watson to complete his third Test century in the final session of the day.

Now it remains to be seen whether the match officials find Gambhir's gesture towards Watson offensive as per the ICC code of conduct.
