Gurugram, March 25: Former Open champion Francesco Molinari will look to rediscover his winning touch at the Hero Indian Open 2026, which tees off on March 26 at the DLF Golf and Country Club with an enhanced prize purse of $2.55 million.
The 44-year-old Italian, whose career-defining moment came with his triumph at the 2018 Open Championship, arrives in India determined to bounce back after a winless run since 2019.

"The ability to grind through tough holes and come out on top at the end of the week is what stays with me," Molinari said, underlining his mindset heading into the tournament.
Defending champion Eugenio Chacarra returns to a venue that transformed his career last year. The Spaniard, who broke through on the DP World Tour with his win here, is eager to replicate that success.
"It's probably my favourite course of the year... you need to think around and I love that kind of golf," Chacarra said.
Despite a dip in form, the Spaniard remains confident of challenging once again on a course that rewards precision and strategy.
Akshay Bhatia, fresh from his Arnold Palmer Invitational 2026 victory, is the top draw of the tournament. The three-time PGA Tour winner is making his much-anticipated India debut and has already acknowledged the challenge posed by the DLF layout.
"There are a lot of tough golf holes, and you have to be very strategic... I've watched highlights of how hard the course is," Bhatia said.
India's hopes will rest on Shubhankar Sharma, who is aiming to rediscover his best after a difficult phase on the DP World Tour.
"When I draw back on past wins, it gives me confidence that I can do it again. A week can change everything," Sharma said.
Yuvraj Sandhu, coming off a record-breaking domestic season, is another strong contender, while Rayhan Thomas returns with added experience from the Korn Ferry Tour.
