Hewitt's Adelaide mansion up for sale for less than he paid for it

By Super Admin

Brisbane, May 1 (ANI): Tennis star Lleyton Hewitt's Adelaide mansion could go for less than he had paid for it.

Brock Harcourt Semaphore agent Steve von der Borch said the Hewitts had this week decided to formally advertise the waterfront property for 2,950,000 dollars plus.

The former tennis world no. 1 paid 3.2 million dollars for the West Lakes property in September 2003, the Advertiser reports.

"The reason Lleyton is selling this property is that it simply no longer suits his family's needs and it's just going to be chewing up interest so it's just a logical thing for him to do," news.com.au quoted von der Borch, as saying.

It is understood there has only been one offer placed on the property since it went on the market last October.

Von der Borch denied Hewitt had been forced to speed up the sale, despite being embroiled in a legal battle against his former management team Octagon in the Victorian Supreme Court.

It was reported this week that Hewitt had invested hundreds of thousands of dollars overseas and took up to two million dollars a year from his bank account as personal expenses.

Situated on about 860sq m and overlooking West Lakes, the home features up to five bedrooms - currently set up as three - a sweeping stairway, large hall with an internal water feature, indoor pool, spa, sauna, commercial cool room and an indoor barbecue. (ANI)
