Hockey India Announces Nominees For 2025 Annual Awards In New Delhi

Hockey India has announced nominees for its 8th Annual Awards 2025, to be held in New Delhi on 27 March 2026. The ceremony will honour top performers from the 2025 season. It will cover players, officials and member units. A total of 32 nominees feature.

Key honours include the Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of the Year for men and women. Awards for emerging players under 21 will also feature. Position based awards will reward goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards. Several special President awards will recognise wider contributions.

The event will also salute team success. The gold medal-winning Indian Men's Hockey Team from the Hero Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar 2025 will be honoured. The bronze medal-winning Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team from the FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025 will also be recognised.

Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey said the awards recognise dedication and achievements that raise Indian hockey standards. Hockey India Secretary General Shri Bhola Nath Singh said the honours highlight work by players, coaches, officials and member units. He said their efforts strengthen the hockey ecosystem in India.

Beyond player awards, Hockey India will present the Hockey India President Award for Outstanding Achievement and the Hockey India Jaman Lal Sharma Award for Invaluable Contribution. Officials will be honoured through President awards for Umpire or Umpire Manager, Technical Official of the Year, and the Best Member Unit Award.

The ceremony will also highlight Member Units for results across the 15th Hockey India National Championships. Officials expect the awards night in New Delhi to bring together leading names from Indian hockey. They aim to reflect on 2025 performances as the sport enters what they call a crucial year.
