Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2026: Delhi, Goa, Mizoram, Karnataka Start Their Campaigns With A Win
Bihar, April 1: The 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2026 began on Wednesday in Rajgir, Bihar. Matches took place at Rajgir Hockey Stadium. Hockey Andhra Pradesh, Hockey Mizoram, Goans Hockey, Delhi Hockey, and Hockey Karnataka started with wins. Chhattisgarh Hockey and Hockey Bihar shared points after a draw.
In Pool A of Division C, Hockey Andhra Pradesh beat Assam Hockey 3-1. All goals came in the second half. Lanka Chaitanya Yesu scored twice in the 32nd and 45th minutes. Captain Maduru Ganga Chaitanya added one in the 47th minute. Subhankar Saha scored Assam’s only goal.

The second Division C Pool A match saw Hockey Mizoram defeat Le Puducherry Hockey 5-3. Lalmuansanga J struck early in the 2nd and 14th minutes. Vanlalhmangaiha scored in the 30th minute. Captain Joseph Malsawmtluanga scored in the 36th minute. Jacob Lalawmpuia added another. R Divakar and Madesh scored for Puducherry.
In Pool B of Division C, Goans Hockey edged Hockey Jammu and Kashmir 3-2. Karan Kumar scored twice in the 22nd and 44th minutes. Saurabh Kumar added a late goal in the 55th minute. Harmandeep Singh and Jasjot Singh scored in the last minutes for Jammu and Kashmir.
Division B action began with Delhi Hockey beating Telangana Hockey 7-2 in Pool A. Aryan scored in the 30th and 54th minutes. Rihan struck in the 36th minute. Luv scored in the 41st minute. Sushant Sehrawat added two goals. Ashish scored once. Captain Jala Yashith Surya and Athram Sambu scored for Telangana.
In Pool B of Division B, Hockey Karnataka defeated Hockey Himachal 5-0. Pratham Poovaiah M B opened scoring in the 9th minute. A C Daiwik Ponnanna added a goal in the 27th minute. Captain Adarsh Govind Mutagar also scored. Prateek Rajesh Yarakal netted twice in the 23rd and 43rd minutes.
The final match in Pool B of Division B ended level. Chhattisgarh Hockey drew 2-2 with Hockey Bihar. Om Kumar Yadav scored twice in the 40th and 44th minutes. Bihar captain Abhay Shah answered with goals in the 41st and 53rd minutes. The hosts finished the day unbeaten.
