Hundred golfers to tee Air Force cup in Shillong

Shillong, Nov 13 (UNI) More than 100 golfers from across the eastern states of the country will vie for the Air Force Golf Cup tournament to be held on November 18 at the golf course here.

Ardent golfers from military, para-military and civilians will tee off to win the Rolling Air Force Golf Cup, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal P K Barbora told newspersons here today.

Air Marshal Barbora said the tournament is being resumed after seven years since it was last conducted in September 2000. This tournament was to bridge the gap between the civil society and the Air Force in the region, he added.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal F H Major will be the chief guest. Air Force station commanders from all the 12 states under the Eastern Air Command will also be present during the golf tournament.
