For 22-year-old Indian shooting sensation Manu Bhaker, life after winning medals at the Paris Olympics hasn’t drastically shifted. In her recent social media post, she addressed the curiosity surrounding her life post-Olympics with a simple but powerful message:
“For all those who are asking me what has changed in my life after I won the medals: NOTHING.”

Bhaker, who made history by winning two bronze medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 10m air pistol and 10m air pistol mixed team events, has become a household name in Indian sports. Her stellar performances have earned her immense recognition and praise. Manu Bhaker became the first India female shooter to win an Olympic medal as well as the first and only Indian post independence to clinch multiple medals at the Games.
Even in the face of setbacks, like her heartbreak at the Tokyo Olympics where a pistol malfunction crushed her hopes, Bhaker used the experience to fuel her Paris Olympics success.
However, despite her rise to stardom, Bhaker remains grounded.
In the same post, she stated, “I am the same Manu Bhaker and enjoying my break. I will return to the shooting ranges in November and start training again. Thanks for your love and attention.”
Bhaker remains grateful to her supporters while also making it clear that her focus is set on returning stronger in the coming months.
A Break Well-Deserved
Manu Bhaker’s break from the shooting ranges comes after an intense period of preparation and competition leading up to the Paris Olympics. Her relentless pursuit of excellence is what has brought her this far. At just 22, she has already amassed an enviable collection of medals across prestigious competitions including the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World Championships.
After her remarkable performances in Paris, it’s no surprise that Bhaker is taking some time off to recharge before diving back into the grind.
