iGATE to organise Scrabble tournament

Hyderabad, Dec 5: iGATE Global solutions, the integrated technology and operations company, would organise qualifier rounds to select Indian participants for the two-day iGate International Scrabble tournament from December 8 in the city.

According to a press release here, there was no age bar for the qualifying round and fifteen games each of 50-minute duration would be played over two days. Word source would be Collins scrabble word list, the official dictionary reference source for the Championship.

The iGate was organising the championship in association with Karnataka State Scrabble Association (KSSA) in Bangalore.

Selected participants from all over the country would vie for the honours in the fourth International tournament to be held in January, 2008.

The IT company had been actively associated with competitive scrabble in the country, starting with a national open tournament in Bangalore in 2003 and International tournaments in Mumbai in 2004 and in Bangalore in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
