Neeraj Chopra did a 'Veni, Vidi, Vici' at the qualification round of the Javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Tuesday (August 6).
On a sunny day at Parc des Princes in Paris, it was the Indian athlete who shone the brightest with a magnificent attempt during the Javelin throw qualifiers.

Neeraj cleared the 84-metre qualification mark with ease and registered a mammoth 89.34-metre distance in his very first attempt. The clearance made sure that the Indian athlete would take part in the Final on Thursday (August 8).
Although the Indian fans tuned into their devices and TV sets to watch a Neeraj show, perhaps nobody expected Neeraj to produce a gigantic throw in his very first attempt. Although it was a short-lived moment for Neeraj on Tuesday, it was a joyous one for Neeraj and the billions cheering him.
A footage from the Paris venue has shown the way Neeraj approached his throw. He was steady during the throw and as he completed, it was a blockbuster one. Seeing the Javelin land beyond the yellow mark, the Indian athlete turned back and put his two hands up in joy.
Then Neeraj kept his right hand up with a gesture of no. 1 with his finger. The Indian athlete indeed was the no. 1 in the qualification round. Neeraj also came extremely close to the white line but managed to hold his momentum which made the throw legal.
He will now be hoping to replicate or even better his tally in the final, which is set to take place on Thursday.
