Bangalore, Aug 7 (UNI) The 34th edition of IMG K1000 motor rally, that would be flagged off tomorrow, has attracted 52 entries, including veteran drivers of team MRF, JK Tyres and Red Rooster Racing.
Veteran participants who could be seen in action included Gaurav Gill (2000 cc), Lohith Urs (1600 cc), Arjun Rao Aroor (1600 cc), Philippos Matthai (1600 cc), all from Team MRF. JK tyres has field the lone participant Akhil Kushlani (2000 cc).
The recently floated Red Rooster Racing has fielded Vikram Mathias (2000 cc) and Amittrajit Ghosh (2000 cc).
The three-day Round-three of MAI National Championship would see competitors cover 250 km, including special stages would return to the city daily and restart on the next day.
Addressing a press conference here, Karnataka Motor Sports Club President Praneeth Perumal said ''the rally should be a good one since the speed limit of 110 kmph has been removed last year.'' The total number of special stages to be run would be 13. This including the super special stage.
The three stages were Mulberry (10 km), silk (8.95 km) and Clay (12 km).
On the first day, each stage would be run twice and six special stages would be completed. On the second day, the same stages would be run twice but in the reverse direction. The super special stage would be on the last day of the event and at Palace grounds.
