India at Asian Games 2023: The Equestrian eventing jumping team missed out on a medal on Monday (October 2) after Vikas Kumar secured a fourth-place finish in the individual event and the team finished last.
The 29-year-old Vikas, riding atop of Noreway Harry, finished with a total of 41.20 for a fourth place finish as Hong Kong's Su Xu Yuan clinched gold in the individual event with a total of 60.60.

Korea's Park Soo II bagged silver with 59.10, while Thailand's Supap Khaw-Ngam won the bronze with 43.20. India's other contestant in the event, Apurva Dhabade finished 12th with a total of 36.00.
In the team event, India finished in the fifth and last position in the final as Ashish Limaye's elimination on Sunday (October 1) set them back by 1000 points and the team ended with 1077.20 penalty points, the most on the table.
Meanwhile, in Canoe Sprint contingent also had no luck in the finals of three events on Monday (October 2) morning. Niraj Verma finished seventh in the men's canoe 1000m singles final with a timing of 4:36.314 minutes.
Chinese Taipei's Kuan-Chieh Lai captured the gold (4:15.942 minutes) while Vladlen Denisov of Uzbekistan (4:15.994 minutes) and Timofey Yemelyanov (4:18.810 minutes) of Kazakhstan got silver and bronze respectively.
In the women's canoe 500m double competition, India's Megha Pradeep and Shivani Verma clocked the timing of 2:17.614 minutes to finish in ninth and last position.
The gold medal went to China (2:01.409 minutes), while Kazakhstan (2:08.125 minutes) bagged silver and Thailand (2:08.257 minutes) won bronze.
In the women's kayak doubles 500m finals as well, India's Binita Chanu and Geetha Parvathy finished last with a timing of 2:07.440. The gold medal was won by China (1:49.944 minutes), Kazakhstan (1:51.251 minutes) and Uzbekistan (1:52.832 minutes).
While the two disciplines or sport drew a blank on Monday (October 2), the country will hope for better outcome in the remaining events at the Asian Games 2023.
Tejas Dhingra, Kirat Singh Nagra and Yash Nensee will represent India in Equestrian show jumping event, while another Indian canoeist Soniya Devi Phairembam will compete in the final of women's Kayak single 500m event later this week.
