By MyKhel Staff

One of Delhi's most wanted criminals, Deepak Pahal, who is also known as Deepak Boxer, got arrested in Mexico recently. The Delhi Police managed to nab him with help of foreign agencies.

The Gangster was arrested in Mexico's Cancun, a coastal city in the Yucatan state a couple of days back and has been brought back to Delhi on Wednesday. According to reports, Deepak was trying to enter to USA from Mexico and was aiming to monitor and control his criminal activities from the US.

Who is Deepak 'Boxer'?

Deepak Pahal was born in Haryana's Sonepat district and was a national junior-level champion at the age of 15. But his failure to shine in sports shifted him towards crime and thus was the rise of a national-level gangster.

Deepak headed the Gogi gang after the killing of gangster Jitendra Mann alias Gogi in the Rohini court complex in Delhi. Gogi was shot dead by two assailants on September 24, 2021. His assailants were also killed in retaliatory fire by police.

Deepak came to the limelight when he freed Gogi from police custody in Haryana seven years ago. He was also involved in attacking police personnel at the Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi two years ago and helped gang member Fazza flee from police custody.

Deepak Pahal criminal records

Deepak was wanted in connection with the killing of builder Amit Gupta, who was shot several times in his left leg and abdomen on August 23 last year in north Delhi's Burari. Ankit Gulia, a sharpshooter of the Gogi-Deepak gang, allegedly killed Gupta.

Deepak had claimed responsibility for Gupta's killing on Facebook, saying the builder was killed due to his proximity with the rival Tillu gang. They suspected that Gupta had passed on information to police about Kuldeep alias Fazza, who was killed in an encounter in 2021.

He was also behind a "double murder" case in Mundka area in August 2022. Two men were killed in the case of mistaken identity. Police had announced an INR 3 lakh prize money for the Delhi criminal.

Escape to Mexico

According to the police, Deepak used a fake passport to flee the country. He took a flight to Mexico from Kolkata using the alias Ravi Antil, and then entered Mexico through 'donkey channel'. Donkey Channel is a term used by criminals to illegally enter other countries with the help of traffickers.

Deepak's Route to Mexico

Deepak took a flight to Dubai from Kolkata. He then reached Kazakhstan and Turkey, from where he took the flight to Suriname in South America. From Suriname, Deepak entered Trinidad and Tobago and then entered Panama.

Through Panama, the criminal then came to the Central American country El Salvador, and finally, to Mexico.
