India edge out Spain to register second win in league
Chennai, Aug 8 (UNI)India juniors maintained their winning streak but struggled to beat a strong Spain 5-3 via the tie breaker after being held 2-2 at the end of regulation time in their second league match in the eight nation tournament in Germany today.
According to IHF Secretary K Jyothikumaran, the FIH has introduced a new rule of applying the tie break in the league phase, in this tournament.
India gained two points from the win and increased their tally to five from two matches to emerge at the top of the pool. Spain earned one point. Yesterday Spain had defeated host Germany to gain three points.
