India eves to play Japan tomorrow in Friendship series

New Delhi, June 18 (UNI) With convincing victories in their two warm up games boosting their confidence, India eves take on Japan in the first of the four-match Friendship hockey series in Tenri-Osaka tomorrow.

The Mamta Kharab-led Indians blanked Nanto Bank 3-0 in their opening warm-up game before defeating Tenri University 3-1 yesterday.

Mamta, Surinder Kaur and Saba Anjum were among goals in the game against Nanto.

In the second game, the Indians staged a fightback from one goal down with Suman Bala, Saba and Mamta converting a penalty corner each, according to information received here.

The series comes to an end on June 25.
