Bengaluru, July 29: India finished sixth in the girls team event of the 2017 WSF-World junior squash championship in Tauranga, New Zealand, on Saturday (July 29).
India went down to US 1-2 in the placing tie for 5-6 position, according to a Squash Federation press release.

The promising Sunayna Kuruvilla won her singles match after Akanksha Salunkhe lost her first match to Marina Stefanoni.
In the decider, Aishwarya Bhattacharya went down to Elle Ruggerio. However, there was a slight improvement in the rankings this time as India had finished eighth in the last edition at the Netherlands.
