New Delhi, Oct 6: Devastated by the way the sportspersons are treated by the authorities in the country, India's maven athlete, PT Usha broke down in front of the media on Monday, Oct 5.
PT Usha who accompanied a team of athletes to 49th National Open Athletics Championship in Bhopal was reportedly forced to share accommodation with five other people. When she approached the organisers requesting for a better living arrangements, she was reportedly denied.
"After all these years of playing at the national and world level a athlete wants some amount of respect from the officials, but forget that if PT Usha was made to share a room with five others then condition of a relatively new athlete can be imagined," PT Usha said.
Ahead of the Commonwealth games, this comes as a major humiliation to the country that has a reputation of ignoring its non-cricketing sportspersons.
