India's Medal Tally at Olympics 2024 on August 9: How Many Medals Can India Win Today?

After a fruitful day 13 of the competition at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024, India will hope to add to the five medals on day 14 of the 33rd edition of the Summer Olympic Games as they aim for a best-ever haul.

With their second successive medals, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and men's hockey team added to India’s medal tally at Paris 2024 on Thursday, August 9. While Chopra won a silver, the hockey team won a bronze to take India's total medal count to 5.

India had earlier added three bronze medals to their Olympics 2024 medal tally. All the three medals had come in shooting with Manu Bhaker alone contributing to two of them in pistol events.

Bhaker won an individual bronze in women's 10m air pistol event to open India's account at the Paris Olympic Games, and later doubled her tally with a bronze in 10m air pistol mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh.

The third medal was clinched by Swapnil Kushare, who won the copper metal in the men's 10m air rifle event. Several others including weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, shuttler Lakshya Sen, mixed archery team, shooter Arjun Babuta and Bhaker, have also missed out on a medal by fine margins.

As India aim to better their best-ever Olympics medal haul of 7 medals which they achieved in Tokyo 2020, all hopes will be on the wrestlers, relay teams and golfers in the final three days of Paris Olympics.

Who are the Indians likely to win medal at Paris Olympics on August 9?

Aman Sehrawat: After missing out on reaching the fina, the Indian wrestler can clinch a bronze medal in the men's 57kg category event. Aman will face Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz in the bronze medal match around 11 PM IST on Friday (August 9).

Apart from Aman's medal match, the Indian men's and women's 4x400m relay teams will look to qualify for their respective finals, while, golfers Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar also will aim for a podium finish when they are in action in the penultimate round of women's individual stroke play event on August 9.
