Para shooters continued to add medals to India's tally at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024 as Rubina Francis won a bronze in the P2 - Women's 10M Air Pistol SH1 event, adding a fourth medal in shooting at the Paralympic Games.
Rubina gathered a total of 211.1 points in the final at the Chateauroux Shooting Range on Saturday (August 31). Javanmardi Sareh of Iran finished with gold (236.8 points) and Turkey's Ozgan Aysel went on to win the silver medal (231.1 points).

Earlier, Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal opened India's account in Paris Paralympics 2024 with gold and bronze medals respectively in the R2 - Women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event on Friday (August 30)
Avani set a new Paralympic record with a total of 249.7, bettering her previous record of 249.6. Mona Agarwal, on the other hand, led the standings in the closing moments, but had to settle for bronze with a total of 228.7.
Para athlete Preethi Pal also clinched a bronze in the women's 100m - T35 event to swell India's tally to 3. Manish Narwal added India's fourth medal at the Games with a silver in P1 Men's 10 Air Pistol Standing SH1 event.

Para archers could add to India's tally later on Saturday (August 31) with Sarita and Sheetal Devi competing in the women's open compound elimination rounds. If they progress to the semi-finals, then India will have a great chance to win at least another medal.
Meanwhile, para shuttlers Nitesh Kumar and Sukant Kadam also kept their medal hopes alive after the duo reached their respective events semi-finals on Saturday (August 31). Kadam will face compatriot Suhas Yathiraj in the Singles SL4 last four clash.
Nitesh, on the other hand, will face Japan's Daisuke Fujihara in men's singles SL3 event semis. Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sivan also reached the semi-finals in the mixed doubles SH6 event.
