The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 will see India compete across 36 sporting disciplines, with a 503-member athlete contingent representing the country in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
India enters the 20th Asian Games after its record-breaking 107-medal haul at Hangzhou 2023, including 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze medals.

India's campaign features a blend of established champions, experienced internationals and promising debutants. India opened its Asian Games 2026 medal account with a silver in the women's 10m air rifle team event. Elavenil Valarivan, Vidarsa Kochalumkal Vinod and Sonam Uttam Maskar combined for a strong performance to finish second. The trio secured India's first medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Games, giving the country an early boost in the shooting competition and marking a positive start to its medal campaign.
