India, Pakistan to compete for IndianOil Cup

By Staff

Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) The high octane India-Pakistan one-day international (ODI) series will be title sponsored by India's largest energy major, Indian Oil.

The India-Pakistan series starts in Guwahati on November 5 followed by matches at Mohali (November 8), Kanpur (November 11), Gwalior (November 15) and Jaipur (November 18).

Both India and Pakistan cricket stars will battle to annex the Indian Oil Cup, which has been designed by well-known Trophy designer Amit Pabuwal, who also designed the Twenty20 World Cup, which concluded in the South Africa recently, a media release stated here today.

This is the third major cricket title sponsorship pursued by Indian Oil. The earlier ones being the Indian Oil Asia Cup in 2004, the Tri-Nation Series in 2005, both in Sri Lanka. Indian Oil was also the official sponsor (worldwide) of the ICC events including the ICC Champions Trophy held in India in 2006 and ICC World Cup held in West Indies earlier this year.
