Kho Kho World Cup

Women's Final: India vs. Nepal

The Indian women's team displayed unmatched speed, strategy, and precision to defeat Nepal with a commanding score of 78-40. The Women in Blue started strong, with skipper Priyanka Ingle leading from the front. Her exceptional performance ensured India gained a formidable lead of 34 points in the first half, while Nepal struggled to secure a single Dream Run.

Despite a brief resurgence from Nepal in Turn 2, where Dipa BK's efforts gave them 24 points, India maintained their dominance. Chaithra B's stellar Dream Run in Turn 4 sealed the deal for India, taking the score to an insurmountable 78 points. The victory not only crowned India as champions but also showcased the team's skill and grit throughout the tournament.

India's road to the title was paved with decisive wins over South Korea, IR Iran, and Malaysia in the group stages, followed by a quarterfinal triumph against Bangladesh and a commanding semifinal win over South Africa.

Men's Final: India vs. Nepal

The men's team followed suit, delivering a masterclass in athleticism and teamwork to defeat Nepal 54-36 in the final. The Men in Blue dominated from the start, with Ramji Kashyap's sky dives and Suyash Gargate's precise touches giving India an early 26-0 lead in Turn 1.

Although Nepal made a valiant attempt in Turn 2, reducing the deficit to 26-18 by halftime, India regained control in Turn 3. Captain Pratik Waikar's leadership, coupled with outstanding contributions from Ramji Kashyap and Aditya Ganpule, extended the lead to 54-18. Despite Nepal's spirited fightback in the final turn, India's defenders, including Pratik Waikar and Sachin Bhargo, held their ground, securing a well-earned victory.

The men's journey mirrored the women's, with dominant performances against Brazil, Peru, and Bhutan in the group stages. They continued their streak with a quarterfinal win over Bangladesh and a thrilling semifinal against South Africa.

A Night to Remember

The finals were graced by dignitaries, including former Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Supreme Court Judge Shri Pankaj Mithal, and Hon'ble Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju, among others. Their presence underscored the significance of this milestone event in Kho Kho's evolution from a traditional sport to a global phenomenon.

With these twin victories, India have not only established its dominance in the sport but also set the stage for Kho Kho's emergence on the world stage, with aspirations of becoming an Olympic event. This triumph is a celebration of the skill, passion, and dedication of Team India, marking the beginning of a glorious era for Kho Kho.
