By Super Admin

New Delhi, Mar 4: Perry Crosswhite, the President of the Australian Commonwealth Games Association said that 2010 Commonwealth Games should remain in India amidst the growing concerns about the security in the nation and neighbouring Pakistan.

The recent attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Pakistan and 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks have raised much speculation about the Games, which are due to be held in New Delhi from Oct 3-14, 2010. Some Australian sportsperson even expressed their reservation about competing in India.

Crosswhite said that the Games are on at Delhi and India is planning a massive security operation for the Commonwealth Games but he could understand why some athletes may still be hesitant to go. He added that at the present situation no one can guarantee any body's safety and it is upto the players to decide to go or not.
