New Delhi, Aug 22: Indian junior spikers returned to their winning run with a surprise 3-1 victory over Asian Champions Iran in the second round of the Boys' Youth World Championship in Tijuana and Mexicali in Mexico.
After losing the first encounter of the second round against Argentina, the Indian spikers showed great determination and fighting skill to outclass the Asian Champions 18-25, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-19 in onw houe 37 minutes.
For India, once again Mandeep Singh was the best performer scoring 31 points in the match, while setter Balwinder Singh played an important role in victory, delivering a series of speedy sets to his middle attackers.
India will next face formidable Brazil in their third and final group encounter, which will also be the decider for top four honors.
