India wins one gold two silver in Asian Championship
New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) India ended their six year medal drought at the Asian Body Building Championship, winning a gold and two silver at the 41st edition of the event held at Shanghai, China.
N Kishan Singh of Manipur was the star performer for India as he clinched the gold medal in the 65 kg category, while the silver and bronze went to Thailand's Krit Purnoikui and Wong Him of China respectively.
Punjab's Ravi Kumar and Uttarakhand's Mukesh Thakur were the two silver medalists for India in the 60 kg and 70 kg category respectively, an IBBF release today stated.
Hosts China were the overall champions, while Vietnam and Korea secured the second and third places respectively in the 31-nation championship.
