India wins one gold, two silver medals on final day
Kolkata, June 19 (UNI) Indian boys' compound team, comprising Abhishek Verma, Sumit Mishra and Sonam Pintso Lepcha won a gold medal in the team championship out-shooting Hong Kong by 211 points to 192 in the second Asian junior archery championship that concluded at the Taiwan Archery Range on Tuesday.
India also won two silver medals in the recurve boys and girls groups.
Indian boys' team, consisting of Rajib Basumatary, Prabhat Kandir and A.Raju went down to Chinese Taipei by one point, the scores being 210 for India as against Taipei's 211, according to the information received here.
The girls recurve threesome of V.Pranitha, Rosie Lalremliana and Nisha Rani Dutta also lost to Chinese Taipei in the final by 184 points to 203 to settle for the second silver of the day.
India ended the championship with a good haul of four gold medals, two silvers and two bronze medals.
Earlier, India's Rajib Basumatary, Abhishek Verma and Namita Yadav won the gold medal in the individual championship.
