Indian 0il's 14th Inter Regional sports meet in Goa from tomorrow

Panaji, Feb 20 (UNI) Indian Oil Corportion (IOC), Western-region will host a 5-day 14th Inter Regional Sports meet from tomorrow till February 25 here at Campal.

IOC Deputy General Manager (HR) Mr J Kaushal, speaking to media persons here today said the main aim to organise the sports meet was to encourage the employees. He said about 170 participants are expected to take part in events such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, Bridge and Chess.

The five participating teams-- reigning champions Western Region, Eastern, Northern, Southern and Headquarters from all the marketing units of Indian Oil all over India-- will vie for top honours. Each team event and individual events will have points and the team finishing at the highest points will be awarded the Director (Marketing) trophy and the runners- up will be awarded Executive Director (HR) trophy.

The Corportion has also instituted the Indian Oil Sports scholarship for nurturing budding talent between the age group of 15 to 18. Those who excel at the National and International sports events and best selected sports persons will be given scholarship of Rs five thousand per month.

The sports meet will be inaugurated tomorrow by Mr A K Rauniar, Executive Director (Human Resource).
