Bridgetown, Sep 19: The only Indian woman boxer, M C Mary Kom created history after bagging the fifth successive World Championship title in Bridgetown on Sunday, Sep 19.
Kom won the title after beating Steluta Duta of Romania 16-6 in the finale.
In the semi final on Sep 18, Mary Kom, who competed in the 48kg category, left Alice Kate Aparri of Philippines behind by 8-1.
The former Khel Ratna awardee from Manipur thus remained the only boxer to have won a medal in each edition of the World Championship.
