In a significant stride for Indian Esports, the grand finale of College Rivals, acclaimed as India's largest Esports talent quest, culminated with 28 college students sharing an impressive INR 50 lakh prize pool.
This event not only showcased the burgeoning talent in the country but also marked a significant milestone in the growth of the Esports ecosystem in India.

The event, a collaboration between Ampverse and DMI Finance, saw over 5,000 attendees at the LAN finals, witnessing participants compete across six popular titles including BGMI, FIFA 23, Road to Valor, Valorant, Tekken 7, and Counter Strike-2. The competitions were held in the best-of-three format, offering intense and gripping matchups.
The highlight of the event was the BGMI title, where eight finalists vied for the top spot and a share of the INR 10 lakh prize pool. Divyansh Vashisht of Delhi School of Professional Studies, Palampur, emerged victorious against Sahil Nagpal of APJ, securing the top prize of INR 4 lakh.
Ampverse's Country Head for India, Ashwin Haryani, reflected on the event's success and its foundational goal to foster and uplift the gaming community at the grassroots level. Through extensive on-ground activation and virtual engagements, the initiative reached close to one lakh participants, signalling a bright future for Indian Esports.
The event also shone a spotlight on other gaming titles, with winners in each category taking home a substantial INR 2.5 lakh prize. Notably, Karman Singh Tikka, who represented India at the Asian Games 2022, showcased his prowess in FIFA 23 by defeating Danish Khan of DGMC.
Entertainment was aplenty beyond the competitions, with live performances from notable artists and the opportunity for attendees to interact with famous Esports personalities. The event, enriched with a variety of activities such as cosplay competitions and VR cricket, provided an immersive experience for all present.
The journey of College Rivals commenced in August with city qualifiers across New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai, drawing an overwhelming participation of 92,000.
This nationwide initiative underscores the growing interest and potential in Indian Esports, setting the stage for future talents to emerge and shine on both a national and international level.
