Indian eves' outstanding show continues, blanks Jordan 3-0
Christchurch, Apr 17 (UNI) After Shikha Uberoi, Tara Iyer today joined the party with Sunitha Rao to outclass Jordan 3-0 in the second rubber of the Federation Cup zonal qualifiers here.
Tara, who is representing India for the first time in any international event thrashed Sahar Al Disi 6-0, 6-0, while Sunitha repeated her yesterday's performance to beat Leen Irani 6-0, 6-0.
Later, in the doubles match, Sunitha teamed up with US-based Indian Shikha to overpower the duo of Al Disi and Irani 6-1, 6-0 to seal yet another outstanding day for the Indian eves.
Indians, drawn in Pool 'B' will now face the toughest opposition of the pool in Chinese Taipei in their next encounter and will finish up the Asia-Oceania group tie of the women's team competition against hosts New Zealand.
However, if the Indian girls manage to top their pool, then they will fight it out with the winner of pool A, which comprises Thailand, Korea, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, China and Singapore, in the finals to be played on April 21.
