India’s Medal Tally at Olympics: How Many Medals Has India Won After Second Bronze in Paris 2024 on July 30?

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh's bronze in 10m air pistol mixed team event at Paris 2024 Games on Tuesday (July 30) took India's Olympics medal tally to 37 - 10 gold, 9 silver and 18 bronze.

Bhaker and Sarabjot defeated Korean pair Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the Bronze Medal play-off match. Both Bhaker and Sarabjot shot consistently with regular 10s in the series against the Koreans. With this medal, India's medal tally increases to two in the Paris Olympics.

This medal also marked Bhaker’s second medal at the ongoing games. The 22-year-old had won the first medal for a women's shooter at the Olympics and the first in the ongoing Paris Games 2024 with a bronze in 10m air pistol women's individual event.

While this was Bhaker's second medal in the ongoing games Olympics, Sarabjot won his first medal, having missed out on reaching the final in the individual event earlier in Paris.

Sarabjot and Bhaker added the sixth medal in shooting, a sport which has also seen an Indian clinch gold medal earlier. Earlier, shooting legends Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Abhinav Bindra, Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang had also won a medal.

India opened it's account in Paris 1900 and has won the most medals in hockey, while recent years have seen the country achieve more success in the Summer Olympics with Neeraj Chopra winning the first-ever track and field gold and PV Sindhu winning back to back medals.

As mentioned earlier, India has won 10 golds, 9 silvers and 18 bronze medals at the Olympics with the first gold medal coming in the 1928 Amsterdam Games. Here is a look at the medal breakdown of India in Olympics:

As for most medals in a sport, India has won 12 medals in hockey, including the latest bronze in Tokyo 2020. The second most successful sport for India has been Wrestling in terms of total medals won, but shooting takes the second spot with respect to golds and total medals.
