The Indian Men's Basketball Team is gearing up for a significant test as they embark on a three-match tour of Dubai from Tuesday, September 24, to Friday, September 27.

This tour comes at a crucial time for the senior team as they prepare for the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.

With a tough challenge ahead in the qualifiers, the Dubai tour will serve as an essential warm-up to sharpen their strategies and assess their performance under competitive conditions.

The FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers will be played in a home-and-away format, where India has four critical matches lined up. The home games will be held in Chennai, with India set to face Qatar on November 22 and Kazakhstan on November 25.

In February 2025, the team will travel to play away fixtures against Iran on February 21 and Qatar on February 24. Currently, India is at the bottom of the points table, having suffered two consecutive losses, making this tour even more vital for building momentum ahead of the qualifiers.

Indian Men's Basketball Team Squad for Dubai Tour 2024
India has announced a well-balanced 15-player squad for the Dubai tour.

Sahaj Pratap Singh Sekhon, Kanwar Gurbaz Singh Sandhu, Vaisakh Karimbingal Manoj, Harsh Dagar, Kushal Singh, Samson Stephen Sandhu, Muin Bek Hafeez, Baladhaneswar Poiyamozhi, Arvind Kumar Muthu Krishnan, Prashant Singh Rawat, Pranav Prince, Harshwardhan Tornar, Palpreet Singh Brar, Princepal Singh, Piyush Meena.

The team will be led by head coach Scott William Flemming, assisted by Rama Linga Prasad Guntupalli and Joginder Singh. Other members of the support staff include Siva Shanmuga Singh Veerapandi as the physiotherapist and Suraj Veer Sharma as the strength and conditioning coach. Charmaine Elyse Flemming will accompany the team as part of the delegation.
