New Delhi, Sep 3: The Indian Olympic Association urged Prime minister, Manmohan Singh to form a Group of Ministers (GoM) to keep an eye on argumentative issues in the draft of National Sports Development Bill.
In a letter to PM, the IOA acting President Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that " a systematic and well archestrated" campaign had been initiated aginst the IOA and the National Sports Federation (NSFs).
"IOA and NSFs are being projected as villains who are against the government. Our point of view is being totally ignored or distorted and the public is being fed that all sports officials are power mongers," the letter said.
He also added that a wrong picture was being presented before PM and requested him to form a GoM and scrutinized thoroughly the proposed bill.
"We have nothing to hide and we want to see end of this unfounded campaign against the sports bodies" as said by Malhotra in the letter.
