In a heartening story of overcoming challenges, two Indian para-athletes, Vinai Kumar Kush and Krishna Kumar Samania, have clinched bronze medals at the International Canoeing & Kayaking Sprint Goodwill Cup in Moscow, Russia.
Their victory is even more significant given their underprivileged backgrounds and the crucial support from HEAL Foundation that made their participation possible.

The Goodwill Cup took place on the renowned Moscow Rowing Canal, featuring over 800 athletes from around the world. Amidst this fierce competition, Vinai and Krishna stood out by securing bronze medals in their respective events.
This achievement was not only a testament to their athletic skills but also highlighted the essential support provided by HEAL Foundation, which covered their travel expenses.
Dr Swadeep Srivastava, Founder & Chairman of HEAL Foundation, stated, "We believe in empowering talented individuals from underprivileged sections of society to achieve their dreams. Vinai and Krishna's success is a shining example of what can be achieved with the right support and guidance.
"Our foundation's mission is to bridge this gap, ensuring that no talent is left behind due to economic constraints. Vinai and Krishna's achievements are a testament to what can be accomplished when support meets talent."
Vinai hails from Bhajanpura, Delhi, where he balances a modest job with his sports career. He won two bronze medals in the 200m and 500m kayaking events at the Moscow Goodwill Cup.
His accolades also include medals at the International World Dragon Boat Championship in Pattaya, Thailand. Similarly, Krishna owns a small salon in Madanpur Khadar, New Delhi, and trains at the Wazirabad Water Sports Club. He secured a bronze medal in the 200m canoeing event in Moscow after previously winning gold and bronze at the championship in Pattaya.
Shri Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs & Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, commented on their win: "Their victory is a testament to their determination and hard work.
"It's heartening to see organisations like HEAL Foundation supporting talented athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to showcase their skills on the global stage.
"Supporting athletes like Vinai and Krishna is not just about financial aid; it's about nurturing dreams that would otherwise be left unfulfilled. Their success on the international stage showcases the untapped potential within the underprivileged sections of our society, and it's imperative that we continue to offer them the opportunities they deserve."
Mr Arvind Chaudhury, Vice-President of BJP Preet Vihar Mandal in New Delhi, also praised their achievement: "This achievement is not just a personal victory for Vinai and Krishna but a triumph for all those who believe in the power of equal opportunity.
"Their success highlights the importance of supporting grassroots talent, especially from underprivileged backgrounds, to ensure that no dream is out of reach. HEAL Foundation's role in this journey is commendable and sets an example for others to follow."
