Indian Railway completes double in gymnastics

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 24 (UNI) Indian Railways completed a double in the 48th Senior National Championships winning the Women's Gymnastics Championship here.

Railways dominted three of the four apparatus, scoring 165.30 points in the vaulting table, 55.60 points on the balancing beam and 57.80 points on the floor exercise.

In the uneven bar, they got 55.50 points and came second.

West Bengal emerged runners up and earned the silver medaal, winning by a close margin against Punjab. West Bengal earned 222.70 points against Punjab's 222.05 points. West Bengal came first in the uneven bar gaining 65.25 points and came second in all other apparatus.

The other teams claimed the top position were Maharashtra (217.30), Andhra Pradesh (199.95), Tripura (196.10), Haryana (159.60) and Kerala (158.65).
