Indian team arrives in Jamaica
Montego Bay, Jamaica, Mar 2 (UNI) The 15-member Indian team led by Rahul Dravid arrived here early morning with the wishes of millions of countrymen to regain the coveted Cricket World Cup starting here on March 13.
The Indians are slated to play two warm-up matches against Holland (March 6) and hosts West Indies (March 9) here, before starting their World Cup campaign with the opening Group II encounter against Bangladesh on March 17 at Port of Spain, Trinidad.
India will play their second match against against Bermuda (March 19) and third and last group match against Sri Lanka on March 23 at the same venue.
For six players -- Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, S Sreesanth, MS Dhoni, Robin Uthappa and Dinesh Karthick -- this will be their first World Cup appearances.
The Indian team: Rahul Dravid (captain), Sachin Tendulkar (vice-captain), Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Karthick, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, Munaf Patel, Irfan Pathan and S Sreesanth.
