Indian team claims six medals in 4th Children of Asia Int games

New Delhi, Jul 13 (UNI) The Indian gymnatsics team has won six medals including one gold, four silver and one bronze in the 4th Children of Asia International Sports Games held at Yakutsk, Russia from July 3-13.

Siddharth Verma won gold in the Pommell Horse, silver in the Floor Exercise and bronze in the Horizontal Bar event.

While, Saurabh Sharma, Abhishek Chetterjee bagged a silver each in the Horizontal Bar and Vikas Bhatia won a silver in the Pommell Horse event.

Apart from winning medals in the Men Artistics Gymnastics (MAG), position and ranking of the Women Artistics Gymnatsics (WAG) and Rhythmic Gymnatsics (RG) also remarkably increased after the tourney.

The 19 members Indian Team had participated in the three disciplines- MAG, WAG and RG, General secretary, Gymnastics Federation of India Kan singh Rathore said in a press release.

Rathore also expressed his thanks to the Indian Olympic Association, Sports Authority of India and the government for providing this oppourtunity to the gymnastics, the release added.
