India, Pakistan favourites for World Twenty20 trophy: Misbah-ul-Haq

Dubai May 9 (ANI): Pakistan cricket vice-captain Misbah-ul-Haq has said both India and Pakistan are favourites to win this year's World Twenty20 tournament in England.

"Both Pakistan and India have been doing very well in Twenty20 cricket. So, I think both have a very good chance of winning the World Twenty20," Haq said.

Haq said Pakistan, which lost to India in the final of the inaugural World Twenty20 tournament in 2007, has been in good form in the shortest version of the game.

"We have been playing a Twenty20 tournament every year and that has matured us. Fortunately, we are again playing that event in Pakistan before going to England," The News quoted Haq, as saying.

Besides India and Pakistan, South Africa and New Zealand are the top two contenders for the trophy, he added.

"Any team can win a Twenty20 game but you need discipline and luck. I think South Africa and New Zealand are also two very good teams," Haq said. (ANI)
