India's Medal Tally at Olympics 2024 on August 10: How Many Medals Can India Win Today?

After three medals in the previous 2 days of competition at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024, India will hope to sign off with another in the final two days of the 33rd edition of the Summer Olympic Games as they aim to match their best-ever haul.

Aman Sehrawat, the only male wrestler at Paris Olympics, followed up on javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and men's hockey team success, adding to India’s Olympics 2024 medal tally on Friday, August 9. Aman won a bronze to take India's total medal count to 6.

Reetika Hooda the last medal hope for India at Paris Olympics 2024

India had earlier won three bronze medals in Paris 2024. All the three medals had come in shooting with Manu Bhaker alone contributing to two of them in pistol events.

Bhaker won an individual bronze in women's 10m air pistol event to open India's account at the Paris Olympic Games, and later doubled her tally with a bronze in 10m air pistol mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh.

The third medal was clinched by Swapnil Kushare, who won the copper metal in the men's 10m air rifle event. Several others including weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, shuttler Lakshya Sen, mixed archery team, shooter Arjun Babuta and Bhaker, have also missed out on a medal by fine margins.

As India aim to match or even better their best-ever Olympics medal haul of 7 medals which they achieved in Tokyo 2020, all hopes will be on the last wrestler in competition, and golfers in the final two days of Paris Olympics.

Here is a look at the Indian athletes competing in medal rounds or finals, and how the medal table may look after day 15 of the competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics:

How many medals can India win today (August 10) in Olympics 2024?

India could end day 15 of the competition at Paris Olympics with one more medal, but will need to wait till Sunday, August 11 to win the medal and add to India’s tally.

Who are the Indians likely to win medal at Paris Olympics on August 10?

Reetika Hooda: The wrestler will be the final Indian contestant in the ongoing games, which comes to a close soon. While she won’t win a medal on Saturday (August 10), Reetika can assure herself and India another medal if she qualifies for the final today.

Reetika Hooda will compete in the women’s 75kg category freestyle wrestling event, starting with the opening round against Bernadett Nagy of Hungary. She will then face either Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyztan or Wang Juan of China for a spot in the semi-final.

Even if she reaches the semi-final and loses the bout, Reetika could still get a chance to finish on the podium via the bronze medal match. However, Indians will hope the grappler goes all the way and the competes in the gold medal match, which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, August 11.

Apart from Reetika’s possible medal, golfers Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar also will aim for an impossible podium finish when they are in action in the ultimate round of women's individual stroke play event on August 10.
